MOUNTAIN BIKE

Giant New Energy Technology Co.,Ltd  located in the beautiful coastal city of Xiamen, is engaged in high-grade carbon fiber composite product development and manufacturing of production-oriented manufacturers, because the material performance, light weight, high-tech industry's favorite sports equipment . The main products are carbon fiber bicycle rims, frame, other carbon bike parts.
Under the supervision of the FFC (the French Cycling Federation) since 1988, Mountain Biking is a young sport. Imported from the US where unusual bikes like the “fat tyre bikes” or the “balloners” were used to ride down hills, the mountain bike arrived in France in 1983. From the mid-Eighties, the cycling industry experienced a new boom thanks to the high number of mountain bikes sold in France and throughout the World. This bike offers recreational riders a cycling experience in close contact with Nature. For several years now, a new type of mountain bike, the “Freeride”, has arrived on the market. A symbol of Freedom, this new comer is more specifically designed for downhill riding.
Cross-Country (XC):
Cross-Country is the mountain bike discipline which requires the most endurance. It offers many possibilities:  multi-lap race or singletrack, marathon, time-trial, stage race, etc. The first form (cyclists ride on the same circuit several times) is the one chosen for the Olympic Games, hence its name Olympic Cross-Country, XC.
Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE):
After being tested for a few years at the French Cup and the World Cup, the XCE was granted a World title in 2012 and a Men and Women Champion title in France in 2013. The circuit requires skills and nerves; heats last between 1 and 2 minutes on a 500/600m circuit making the race extremely dynamic and easy to watch for a wide audience.
Downhill:
An individual time trial on a downhill track, covered with obstacles. The very technical aspect of the circuit must bring forth both speed and driving skills. The race lasts between 2 and 5 minutes for a 1.5 to 3.5 km circuit. The technical nature of the equipment (double suspension frame, disc brakes…) makes it quite expensive and thus requires an important budget.
Trial:
This discipline was created by Moto Trial fans who couldn’t afford a motorcycle to practice trial. It consists in crossing over obstacles (natural or man-made) using only the tires for balance. It requires high expertise in bicycle riding.
4X (4-Cross):
Inspired by Dual Slalom, 4X is a discipline in which riders compete 4 by 4 on a downhill course which lasts 30 to 60 seconds and includes natural or man-made obstacles (jumps, bumps, bankings, slopes…)
Enduro:
Organized mainly in mountainous areas, Enduro races consist of specials (timed stages) and liaisons (non-timed stages). Rankings are based on the combined times of the riders during the specials (individual timing). Liaisons are made either on a mountain bike or by using a ski lift. The compulsory gear of the rider is similar to the one for Downhill, ie full-face one piece helmet, elbow braces, full-finger gloves, back protection and knee pads.
Le Trophée de France des Jeunes Vététistes- T.F.J.V (The French Trophy for Young Mountain Bikers) :
This competition for youngsters is part of a multi-discipline training for racing cyclists. On a national level, it brings together all the regional committees each represented by 4 boys and 2 girls in the Benjamin, Minime and Cadet categories (according to age: 11-12, 13-14, 15-16). They must participate in all the races riding the same bike: Orienteering race, Cross-Country, Trial and Downhill for Benjamins and Minimes; Relay, Cross-Country, Trial and Downhill for Cadets.
Team Relay:
Relay is also a Cross-Country race. The team is made of 1 woman, 1 elite, 1 U23 (under 23), 1 junior. Team Relay races are organized during the French, the European and the International Cycling championships.
Trekking :
This discipline is mainly for Nature lovers who want to practice a sport without competing. Since 1998 the FFC (the French Cycling Federation) has organized on its FFC Mountain Bike sites the Randos d’Or (a label guaranteeing the quality of both the circuit and the organization). The proposed circuits (at least four, including one of 80 km or minimum 5 hours) fit different levels of practice in order for everyone to find what they are looking for, individually or with the family.
